Is this empty forum ominous or WHAT?

The title says it all. I can't believe they already created a new class of '12 board BEFORE decisions are out. Within the next week, i could be posting on here :), or not :(. Good luck everybody!!!

Good Luck to you too! :)

Good luck! =)

Can someone give me my odds of getting in? I just got denied from stanford SCEA so I'm j/w I know it's annoying but w/e.

You'll get in. SAT is weak, but ACT more than compensates.

how did you get denied from stanford! omg.

I got denied from stanford b/c I didn't have a hook. I'm white, middle class and not a legacy which=not good combination. Kids like me are a dime a dozen and I wasn't picked out of that group for SCEA. If I was an URM or legacy I probably would have been in. o'well dartmouth is my second choice so hopefully I get in there.

baseballpat4... be careful tho. There are people who are even more impressive than you who got outright rejected ED from Dartmouth. But, don't get too hurt by stanford... they tend to be off their rocker when it comes to admissions. My school has had students get accepted into all ivies and not stanford, as well as nowhere but stanford.

ya I'm not saying I'm a guarantee or even a probable into Dartmouth if I came off as that I didn't mean to...I was just attempting to explain why I didn't get into Stanford as they seem the most arbitrary of the top schools when making their decisions. I can only hope for the best when it comes to Dartmouth.

That sucks...but best of luck with Dartmouth...its times like these that I am grateful I am a minority...

I know what you mean, echekavargas... All my friends think it's unfair that I'm Hispanic.

baseballpat4 - I'm in the same boat as you. Rejected from Stanford, second choice Dartmouth. Except I'm Asian and we're pretty much overpopulating California, too. Good luck to you! Just one more month!

Hey, I got some letter saying I am in already...did anyone else get one? It basically read we have no doubt that when we send out decisions you will be admitted.

baseball pat... my son got the same letter lastw eek! He had his dartmouth interview that same day!! he found out when he got home. :) Go Big Green!!

I also got a likely letter. Best news ever!

all these colleges don't just look at GPAs and test scores, they seriously look at who you are and who you claim to be in your essay. they want you to fit in, and a person with high scores in everything may easily crack under the pressure of a great school. just in case you didn't know.

I plan on going to Dartmouth as of now. I tried a couple of other possible options but I think my heart is most comfortable and set there. Hope to see you folks there!
