But colleges in Qatar are awesome!

Oh ya, did you say Cornell in Qatar? Is it a special program, or an actual college?

Oh ya, did you say Cornell in Qatar? Is it a special program, or an actual college?

i knew it was just a matter of time b4 this got off topic.. whats with the Qatar obsession... isnt it like 90% urban desert.

It's like both, a real college with a special 6 year pre-med/medical program where you only take the necessary science courses, but you don't have to take the BS classes a lot of freshmen take here in their 1st year. And you graduate with an M.D and everything, just like it were from Cornell in NY. :)

Small classes too, and yeah, lots of good things about it, I really hope it's as nice in person

Lol you don't suck celeb, at least you don't have to go to Walmart for the hell of it because there's nothing else to do :p

That sounds great (way better than NUs seven year program). What branch of medicine do you think youll go into?

Do you guys live in small towns? I just don't understand the walmart thing?

I do. Its getting old, though.

Ecept for the fact that they have excellent DVDs for $5.50

Oh I don't know what I'll specialize in . . right now the aim is just to get in and out of med school in one piece . . so you're also considering the medical path? Do you know what you want to work with afterward (if you make it)?

Yeah seriously, southern little towns kinda suck . . . it's not like people really want to go hang out there, I guess they're desperate when they're low on money, I dont know. I was invited to go spend like an hour 1 friday night and just couldn't do it. Usually when I go in there i'm out in about 20 mins cuz its soo crowded and noisy and just annoying sometimes.

I tend to spend more time hanging out at school/park/friends' houses

I find this pretty funny. Walmart is a great place for low prices...not a hang out spot. People would much rather go to the movies, or one of the three good malls or something like that. weird :p

yeah now you see why I have to leave soo fast :)

same here martha, or we just go out of town.

wait, this walmart thing is serious??? i thought it was a joke... why dont u kids have house parties or road trips or something other than hanging out at walmart

people do, but not every weekend

Well, I don't live in a small town, but it's definetly suburbia to me.

Movies-- In another county, not worth the gas money, plus it takes $7 to get in. Also: Most teens can't see the movies they want to see in theaters, while Wal-Mart doesn't "card" often.

Malls-- Heh, I wish. Also about 50 miles away, not worth gas, etc. Besides, the malls here are getting kinda skanky. Why not watch skanks for free?

ok i lived in a small town like 15 min outside of indianapolis until recently and i cant remember ever once hanging out at walmart... the closest we ever got to that was in middle school when we all hung out at this restuarant called pizza king. In my group we always called other people to see what they were doing and then we would go as a group or we would go to parties thrown by kids at the other 4 close schools in our county and if all else failed we would drive the 40 min to downtown indy or just hang out at one of the ppl from our groups houses or do something random around town, like pool hopping or playing paintball from the back of each others pick up trucks while driving around town... never did we ever sink as low as to hang out at the walmart

I don't like walmart...the greeters and I have a bad history.

yeah dude people do that, i dunno, we make I guess, i just want more city life though.

shaddix, bad history? you dont mean like shoplifting right?

Oh I dont know Id really like to get into neurosurgery, but thats super difficult and competitive, but its the only medical field that actually seems really appealing to me.

sarorah....How did you know???? My exploits have caught up with me. ;)

Seriously, this one old lady (who was a greeter) and I almost got into it. I was trying to get a cart, but she was talking to another elderly man about Matlock or something...Anyhow, we all know greeters are supposed to hand out the carts...this lady refused to let go of the cart though. I mean I don't understand why she would not let go of the cart. I wanted to just yank it away from her...but I didn't want her to break her hip or something.
