Is this going to look bad...

Alright, I’ve posted my stuff on here before, but I just want some opinions. My cumulative GPA is a 3.4774 after Junior year, was a 3.3 after Freshman year. However, my weighted GPA or HPA as we call it here was a 3.9 after 1st semester junior year and probably around a 4.0 now. Will this look good that I did well in my Honors and AP classes with a tough course load, I mean, obviously, I wish my GPA was higher, but I did all I could, for 2nd semester this past year my GPA was a 3.87 and my weighted was a 4.987, so…yeah. Any ideas…

Anyone have some input?

Duffman,

An upward trend, especially in AP and other advanced courses will look good to the adcoms. Some schools do not even look at the grades from Freshman year. If there are any special reasons for the change, or for the challenges of 9th grade, you might have your guidance counselor mention them in his/her rec.
Looking pretty good from here!

I had an upward trend also. I think that showed that I was improving, and therefore was a good thing. Of course, that's not better than a higher average the whole time, but the trend is definitely not that bad. Especially since many colleges dont weigh your freshman year to high.

^ Yeah, thanks for the input guys!
