Is this good enough for UCF?

I'm a bit worried about getting accepted into UCF but oh well.
My GPA is a 3.6
My SAT score is a 1360 overall
I'm not done testing as I am still trying to get my SAT scores up. I am also taking the ACT soon.
100+ community service hours
I'm really involved with exchange students. I host international students for either a year or 3 weeks.
I'm just really nervous about getting accepted into UCF.

Is the 3.6 weighted or unweighted? Also, when you say overall SAT, do you mean out of 2400 or out of 1600? If 2400 then I really think you are going to have an issue getting in. Regardless the GPA should be fine, but the test scores for sure need to be raised. Do you have a tutor?

if the 3.6 is weighted, I’d say that that’s low/right underneath average. Has there been a downward trend in your grades? As for your test scores…what emjay3 said. Is the 1360 just from your first time testing or have you tested multiple times (super-scored score)? Most people improve after taking the test a second time so if you reach 1700 or above, that would be a huge jump and something UCF would be impressed with.

The 3.6 is weighted and yeah, the 1360 is out of 2400.
These responses are making me extra nervous and to think that I have until May 1st is just terrifying.
My super-scored score is a 1370 :frowning: I’ve taken the SAT twice.

I would verify you are even at the state minimum for SAT scores. Get a tutor. Shell out the money for the best because to be honest, they really do take those scores into account and a 1370 out of 2400 is going to get you at BEST deferred.

I am not sure if applying now would get you rejected or deferred…if you put that you plan to take future SATs in your admission, ucf might defer you so you can create a more competitive application. You have to study…the test in March might be too soon for you because you should study meticulously for at least two months.

Since you mentioned taking the ACT as well, study for that by doing plenty of practice tests and time yourself. The brevity of the ACT is extremely tight. You have more time per question on the SAT so if timing was an issue for you, that throws up a red flag for the ACT.

I understand why you are nervous. Please make sure that you have a backup plan if UCF does not work out for you. Good luck!

If UCF is really where you want to go, you should look into going to Valencia and doing direct connect. You may still have time to raise your test scores, but your GPA is still below the average and with the slots for freshmen getting more and more filled, it’s getting pretty competitive.

I got accepted to Summer B Pegasus Success program with a 3.6 Weighted GPA, 20 ACT with LOTS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND EC’s. I pretty much begged them to let me in with letters of reqs, and emails telling them that they were my first choice school and it worked. Don’t give up!
