I got 12400 dollars from Penn State in grant aid and federal loans and the cost is around 36k per year. So, is Penn State worth getting into so much debt? Also, can some one please explain one thing to me? I haven't won any scholarships yet. But if suppose, my performance turns out to be really good over there, then can I get in line for the money? And do colleges want all the money to be paid in full(for the whole year) before you start attending classes or what? Thanks, again,in advance!

1) Scholarship money for performance at PSU - read the financial aid page again and see if there are any such scholarships, and what the requirements are.

2) Paying in full or in installments - again, read the financial aid page at the PSU website. All of this information should be there.

3) As to PSU being worth the debt or not, that is up to you. What offers did you get at your home state universities? Be sure that you are comparing expenses after GRANT AID, not after grant aid plus loans. The loans you are going to have to pay back.
