I know this is posted a lot on here, but when people ask me what your schedule is for Junior year I tell them:

Latin I
PreCalculus
American Studies II
AP Biology I
Latin II
AP Biology II
H. English 11
ESSR (Earth and Space Science Research)

They say: "Only 1 AP!", "You're only taking ONE AP....I'm taking 5" lol. I know I give advice about only taking APs that you would enjoy. But, IS this good enough, only having 1 AP?

I think you should take more than one especially if you want to get into a top-tier college.

Only one AP! I’m taking 5…no lie I’m taking five…but don’t take 5 APs if you like to sleep and sit around doing nothing for two hours like me…

I only took one AP junior year (in fairness, my school wouldn’t let me take any more than that) and got into a top tier school. As long as you’re not coasting by with all As then they shouldn’t fault you too much for only one AP.

Update: I took out ESSR for AP Environmental, because the teacher who teaches ESSR said that she thinks not enough people will sign up for it.

I’m only in 1 AP right now, but they’ve combined two courses into one (US Gov and Macro). I think you should pursue your best interests; you seem to be into life sciences; colleges want to see that you are pursuing your interests. You may want to take more AP classes during your senior year depending on how many AP courses your school offers. People on CC here are mainly overachievers… (not me!! i am a total rebel… you don’t need to be an ivy league student to be successful in life!) Don’t feel insignificant for pursuing your best interests :P

@Anonymous886 Thanks, made my day.

Story of my life. People in my school are wayyyy too concerned with getting into an Ivy. You can always transfer up (there’s people who have gone from community college to ivy), and you know, not all successful people came from Ivies…

Do you. Don’t do Ivy.

@Anonymous886 I wasn’t really planning going to an ivy school, it’ll be nice, but it’s something I don’t want to do. :)
