Is this good that I realized this early...?

Hi,

I started my second semester as a Freshmen at my community college earlier in February.
When my first semester started after being in it for a couple of months I was considering changing my major because I didn’t feel that it was right for me. I seemed lost and confused doing the homework/class work. I did average on tests.
My major is computer science and I had to repeat 1/5 classes. But the others were relatively easy.
Except for math of course.
However, I would like to know; Have you ever realized that a major or a class wasn’t the right fit for you?
Did you stay in it to give it another try too see if you would like it?
That’s what I did with this major. I’m regretting staying in for another semester because I need an Associates of arts degree and I wasn’t really pointed in that direction. I was urged to pick a major that would get me a job rather than what suited me best. So, I can excel in it. I need more courses to transfer over to the university that I want to go too.
This major only has 2 classes that can transfer over.

Any stories of what you realized that didn’t seem to fit you?
Is it good that I figured out now early instead of being a Sophomore?
Because I read and heard stories where students have figured out late in their college career

Any advice? Any tips on what I should do? What classes I should stay away from that most universities would not take?
Thank you.

Go meet with the Transfer Advisor at your CC. Ask that person to help you sort out which classes to take so that you have a better chance to making a successful transfer for the major that you want at the university you want to attend. Remember, the Transfer Advisor’s whole job is just to help people like you.
