Is this normal?

An extension of the competition thread-
in my honors chem class, the girl next to me (note, not a friend, she's given me the wrong homework assignments, tried to sabotage me, etc) continually takes my paper and "just needs to look at it for a second"... which I hate but tolerate...

well, today she ruffles through the papers on my desk and takes my lab and is like "i just need"...i said back to her "Sorry-I don't share answers"...and she acted like I was crazy! and started telling all the girls around her how insane I was...

what would you do?

Obviously the crazy person is her!

I would just tell her to get the **** and get away from me.

But that's just me. ;D

You should try and maybe move desks so that you're away from her or don't leave papers lying around near your desk. And if she goes through your backpack, accuse her of stealing or something. I can guarantee that she'll probably back off. Or you could make a big scene over it.

I'd probably avoid being her partner in class and keep all unnecessary papers off my desk.

If she goes through your stuff again, just ask really pointedly, "Excuse me, but what are you doing? You just took that from me." It'll probably be enough to make her feel ashamed of her own behavior, and hopefully, she won't do it again.

She sounds like a grade-grubber who can't admit to it and will do anything to keep suspicion from herself.

Or you could do what my D did when she got tired of someone continually copying her work during tests - write down all wrong answers then go back and change them (keeping them covered this time). Don't think the copier has figured out to this day how she got an F while the person she copied from got an A.

Or you could just cause a seen and say "will you stop looking at my answers!!" make sure you are right in front of the teacher or something though.

If you don't have a seating plan, sit far away from her. If you do, ask the teacher if you can move because the people around you are distracting you.

Wow. Things like this never happen in are honors classes. Now the regular classes are another story.

Tell her the back the **** off.

Either:

1) Like swimcatsmom said, put in the wrong answers for her to copy. In fact, if you want revenge (and she doesn't read the work she copies), make up something completely nonsensical as to how you got that answer. This ought to make the teacher suspicious, who will then catch her for cheating.

2)Tell the teacher. It isn't fair for her to be excelling in the class based on your work, and the teacher should be informed of it. If the teacher asks why you haven't just told her no, tell him/her that you have already tried and that it didn't work, and you don't want to create conflict in the classroom. If the teacher gets wind that cheating is going on, s/he'll probably start to notice the similarities between your work and this other girls.

i think a better, more personable answer would have been "eff (but said normally) off whore, this poop (also in a "ruder" way) be mine and your female dogs (same) butt (same) better get the heck (same) away."

or "ummm no thanks. maybe if you learned to ask and werent a dick"

What a desperate girl. She just sounds surprised that you turned down her asking to "see" your paper because she's been able to in the past, and retaliated by attempting to make you embarassed. Just realize that you're so much better than people like her.

Happens all the time.

the thing is-the teacher is also not helping. the teacher was staring at us during this exchange (as in stopped talking during her lecture) and thinks this girl is so smart. who knows? thnaks for the input, i don't feel so crazy now
