<p>If it’s really important to you, and you are proud of it - then yes.
If you do it just to get attention/increase admission - then no.</p>
<p>technically you wouldnt do it, unless you really wanted them to know, and they would know anyways</p>
<p>I say put it in. It can only help you. :)</p>
<p>When you answer the questions about where your parents went to college, they’ll know that you’re a first generation college student. No need to put it in anywhere else. (And you’re not a “college student” of any sort yet.)</p>
<p>Not every application asks for information about where your parents went to college. I would say include the information.</p>
<p>The Common App asks for the info on parents education -and OP is asking about a Common App section, so OP is using the common app. I think colleges will figure out the first generation thing.</p>
