Is a NP for a foreign language class (spanish 2) an automatic rescind for ucsb and ucsd? Would they allow me to retake it in the summer? This is just for the IGETC.

did you not take 3 years of a language in hs?

You need two years of foreign language in high school but i only took one, which is why i’m taking Spanish 2.

i’m really stressing over this class. Do i need it for ucsb or ucsd, or can i just get a w and notify them of this change? I have a tag for both schools.

I might be wrong but I THINK you only NEED one semester. I’d call the admission services just to be on the safe side though.

one semester of a foreign language or one year?

Only one semester of a foreign language is required to complete the IGETC requirements for the UC system. If you feel like double checking ask a counselor, but I’m confident that this is the case.

Either two years of a foreign language in high school or ONE semester of a foreign language in college is required. If you performed terribly in high school (like me) retake it. If you passed with a C or better in high school and are okay with submitting that, there is no need to complete a semester in order to fulfill the language requirement of IGETC.

i took 2 semesters of spanish in hs (Spanish 1A and Spanish 1B). Do i satisfy the requirement or do i have to stay in spanish 2?

im pretty sure you need 2 years in high school or 2 semesters in college

and yes…if you dont pass and fail to complete ur IGETC, they can most definitely rescind you

ok so if i drop the class with a w is that an automatic rescind by ucsb, ucsd and ucla (assuming i get in)? Will they let me retake it in the summer to complete the igetc?

here’s an idea: call them!
