I might want to major in economics and accounting. Is anything like this possible at UF?

Yes, Double Major is possible, [Office of the University Registrar](http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/catalog/programs/las/policies.html)
check Supplemental Academic Programs

I was interested in that too but apparently you can’t double major or even minor in two programs in the same college. you would have to double major in the economics offered by CLAS, but its not much of a difference. the business economics is suppose to be more difficult.

Because the requirements for the various business degrees are so similar, it is not possible to dual major in two of them (Or the to dual major in the CLAS economics course). I couldn’t find any good information on if accounting fell under this umbrella (Technically the Fisher School of accounting is a sub-entity of Warrington Business College) but I think it does.

[Advising - School of Business - Warrington College of Business Administration](http://warrington.ufl.edu/sb/advising/majorminor/dualdegree.asp)

Economics from a different college wouldn’t be possible to do the double major in? It seems like that’d work. Economics can be a B.A. or a B.S.

I would be pretty surprised if economics were easier than business economics given that economics is closer to pure math. Perhaps what you’re hearing is selection bias.

Crimsonbear, that’s what it says on the Warrington website. It isn’t allowed.

this is the first i’ve heard of not being able to double major within the same college. it sounds counterintuitive, and is an unfortunate policy if true.

also, liberal arts econ has the potential to be much more challenging if you pursue it as a math degree, but the ‘requirements’ are slightly easier than in the business college. if you intend to do a lot of math, do econ through liberal arts, because the business calc class is not the same thing as the actual calculus class.

Oh, I see it now. I get confused on the UF website.

Not all of the colleges have this policy, however all business degrees are too similar to merit allowing someone to major in two of them.
