I have a 170 LSAT, 3.65 GPA at U. Penn, double major econ/psyc. I made a quick list of schools that I would want to go and my odds of getting in; just want to see if you agree with what I have, or if I'm being too optimistic...

75% chance of getting in:
UCLA (have legacy at the law school)
Georgetown
USC

50% chance of getting in:
Berkeley
Penn
NYU

<25% chance of getting in:
Harvard
Yale
Stanford
Columbia

That all sounds about right. I would say that UCLA is your safety, same with USC. Georgetown is looking pretty good, too. Berekeley is funky with their admissions so I don't really know about that, but 50% sounds about right for them. Penn and NYU I think are above 50%. They sound like good matches for you. I also think that Columbia should be in the match category. HYS of course is a reach (as it is with everybody) but I think you should have a reasonable chance at Harvard and Stanford. Honestly I doubt Yale... they seem to take pride in rejecting just about everybody. Go to www.lawschoolnumbers.com You can see how you stack up to people who have already applied and whether or not they've been accepted.

Apply to one or two true safety schools. I{'m thinking something like Fordham or Emory. It is well worth the application fee to know early on that you are definitely in somewhere - the acceptance letter in hand. Plus, some places might give you merit money with your great grades & LSAT.
