<p>Generally, what do you think of a rec letter that sounds very exaggerated. My teacher wrote me what I thought to be an awesome rec letter but my parents think its exaggerated. He literally starts with "ilaughinghouse is a superstar." </p>

<p>I think it is very strange that you are reading a rec letter. Usually you waive the right and don’t see them. If she offered it, sounds like it would have been better to keep it to yourself. You and your parents have no control over how the letter is written and know much less than the teacher does about how to write such a letter, so I’d stop thinking about it or discussing it.</p>
<p>^BP, I believe the right is waived for seeing the LOR from the college where it was sent, not the teacher showing the student. My kids waived their rights, but each was given at least one LOR by a teacher (can’t remember if it was pre or post submittal).</p>
