Is this schedule doable or am I setting myself up for failure?

Hey CC,

I will be a third year this upcoming semester majoring in IB. I just came here to seek some advice on my schedule. I have enrolled in the following classes:

Bio 1A/L
Latin American Studies 10
Nutri Sci 10
IB 117 (not the lab component)

Total units:15

Would you guys say this schedule is doable? Has anyone ever had a similar schedule? How hard is IB 117 paired up with Bio 1A?

I also heard that there will no longer be any lab practicals in 1al, is that true? And does that make the schedule better?

Thanks!

I think it’s do-able. Based on the ratings @ ninjacourses, IB 117 is pretty much memorization of slides/reader. NutriSci 10 will be like that as well. Not sure about Latin American Studies 10, but I doubt it’ll be hard compared to a science class. Ultimately, Bio 1A will most likely be the hardest if you’re new to biology.

Thanks!
Does anyone else have any more input?

Are you good at memorization? Then you’ll be golden in those classes, as Calicious said, IB 117 and NST 10 are all about memorizing and regurgitating information.

I’ll warn you though, don’t blow NST 10 off. I took it last semester and stupidly listened to everyone who told me that “This is the easiest class ever!”
They’ve started making the midterms tricker, and you’ll need to memorize every.single.minuscule.detail. I’m actually pretty bad at memorizing, so I had to work for my A in that class, and I found that my classmates shared the same sentiments.
