Is this schedule okay?

I have been taking about 9 credit hours a semester for the last year at my cc.
I know that is low, but I also work, am involved a sport, and I live an hour away from my school. Anyways my momwas concerned about my classes this semester.

College algebra 3 hrs ( math is my weakest subject.)
elementary Chinese 5hrs
bio lab 1hr( took the lecture ages ago, I’ll just have to do a little work on my own)
Principles of chem 5 hr( a refresher chem class that a lot of people take at my school before General chem)

It is only 14 hours, but do you think the classes in that combination would be difficult?

Also, this is a stupid question but at some point a teacher told me something like for every 3 credit hours you spend 100 your outside of class working. Does that sound right or do I have the numbers wrong.

Thanks
Prue

its more like for every 1 hour of class you spend 3 hours outside of class doing work. In actuallity - its really depends on a course. I've taken classes where the only work i did was studying for a test the night before...and ive taken classes that require 10-15 hours of work a week for a 3 credit class.

maybe its just an average, but who knows.

the only class I see there that might require more than an hour a day is chinese - but if you're good at languages, maybe not.

lucky scheduling for you
