Is this schedule too hard?

Calculus I
Economics for Engineers
Chemistry I
Biology I

What has me worried is taking two sciences and calculus at the same time.
I have a 3.18 GPA, I don't know if I can handle it.

If you’re skeptical about your schedule, then I would consider replacing at least one of the “harder” classes with a more “easier” class. In my opinion, that sounds like absolute hell lol. But be aware that i’m not math/science guy by any means. I would drop one of your science classes, but that’s my opinion.

I’m assuming you’ll also have hefty lab courses with your chem and bio? It will require a lot of hard work, but it isn’t impossible. You might find it better to make a plan for each day/week on what you need to get done, when it’s due by, and really discipline yourself. Don’t be afraid to seek out extra help if needed. Get advice from your academic advisor; didn’t they help you pick this schedule? What were their thoughts on it?

This isn’t official yet, but it would help me out in long run because I am a year behind because I had to take Pre Calc. I’m hoping four classes wouldn’t be too much of problem for me.

Bio is a lot of reading and memorization so I think that’s gonna be the main issue for me. Chem and bio both require labs too.

the difficulty of calculus I is overhyped

seems like a pretty light schedule to me. good luck

Thanks, I worried I was underestimating the difficulty of the classes. I’m going to do it.

Econ shouldn’t be too bad. You can learn Calc 1 material here beforehand: [Pauls Online Notes : Calculus I](http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/CalcI/CalcI.aspx) . There are practice problems and assignments available for you to practice. Chem I should be OK if you had high school chemistry. Bio can weed you out… so be cautious.

I had the same schedule with Physics I: Mechanics my freshmen year  except my econ is only normal macroecon.

That schedule actually seems pretty easy to me…sorry not trying to be mean just saying my opinion

Chemistry and biology can be more time consuming if they have labs.

Whether the course material is difficult for you is only something you can determine when you are in the course.

I had some friends take Econ and they seemed to think it was pretty hard. Econ for engineers is probably a little dumbed down though.

Calc 1 is going to be much harder than Pre-Calc, but shouldn’t be that bad. I mean its hard for me to say because I did very well at it in HS and skipped it in college but I think the stories I hear about it and Calc 2 being horrible come more from people not working had than the actuall course difficulty. But then again I saw some of my roommates Calc 2 problems and they were out there.

Bio could be difficult if you don’t have the greatest memory. That sucks you need to take Bio as an engineer though. I never took it in college so I have no idea how the additional lab will be but it could be time consuming.

Gen Chem freshman year was pretty time consuming though when you add on the lab.

You may need to switch out Chem or Bio. If not, you could just have a busy semester on hand.

If you’re decent at science and math, it will be time-consuming but not difficult.
