Does anyone have any information regarding Otterbein's MT program with regards to admissions and/or how good the actual program is itself (or any other infrmation). Of course its no CCM but is it a worthwhile program that will truly prepare you for a career on B'way?

P.S. I looked at old threads and nothing really informative came up.

You may need to search more carefully.....There are TONS of posts about Otterbein here. (Did you spell it correctly?....)

In addition to searching under Otterbein's name, search for posts from poster name "Doctorjohn" He's the Chair of the MT program there and a long time, frequent and incredibly valued participant on this thread.

By the way, welcome to the site as a first time poster! - but you might want to be a bit more thoughtful when comparing schools. I'm not going to presume to understand the exact meaning of your reference, but the "it's no CCM" remark is not likely to make you lots of new friends right out of the chute......

I appologize, that is a good point. My mere intention was to avoid people responding by saying "its good but not the best like CCM" which is what i expected to get a flourish of. But thank you, I was already interested in the program from what my teacher had told me but you certainly have sparked more interest.

Anyone else with any valuable information.

brown, the "valuable information" is throughout the threads on this forum. As theatermom suggested, you need to do a search for Otterbein or for Doctorjohn's posts. :)

After looking at these resources, if you have questions (and I hope that you do), you can post them here at cc.com. I'd suggest you post them on the Otterbein thread, however, so that it's easier for other people to find the conversation. You can also write to me personally. My e-mail address is available by just clicking on my name to the left.

Theatermom makes a good point about being relatively careful about comments which can be misinterpreted. But I wasn't offended by your remark about us not being "a CCM". I have great respect for my colleagues down the road, but we value our differences.

Thank you all so much and yes of course, once i spelled Otterbein correctly, tons and tons of information came up. Aagain, I appologize for the comment comparing the schools.

Otterbein must be great and very selective, as I just saw an incoming freshman, Claire Longest, as Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime. She's one of the most talented young students ever to behold.
