Is this score possible? Please help !!

So I took the SAT for first time in January I got a 1610, but I did not study at all
(530R, 600M, 480W)
Now my question is If I start studying a little bit now (not intense due to ap exams) but study like hardcore from May 14 (day after my last ap exam) do you guys think it would be possible to increase my score to like around a 1950 ?
I really want the mid 1900s
my ideal scores would be around
650R,700M,600W) = 1950

Anything is possible…but what would be the downside of trying? It would give you a good idea of what you really need to work on after studying…I assume you are talking about the June date? Don’t send your scores anywhere yet, study again over the summer and plan to take it one more time in the fall. This way you won’t be taking the June test under insane pressure to “be done” and you may just surprise yourself.

Thank you and yes I do mean the June date … I probally should of mentioned that. But if I take if I take it again in the fall wouldn’t that be to late for applications? I would like to submit my applications by like mid September ( to increase my chances of acceptance lol)

The September date should be fine. You can have all your apps ready to go…I believe you can actually send your common app ( maybe all your apps) and send the scores when they arrive. It may be well worth the week or so wait in September if the June date doesn’t give you the results you want. It will do little good to submit an app early if you don’t back it up with the scores you want! Have you taken the ACT?

Again. Why would one take a test without preparation at all? The nice thing is you obviously have room for improvement. The bad things are you’ve wasted $50, a couple months of college preparation, and a chance. Typically you will get 100 to 300 points higher after thorough preparation. So you should have a chance to get 1900+, but it would be hard to achieve that by June.

Sdgal2: there is no September SAT test date. There is one in October though.

Oops! must have been thinking ACT

Any other opinions ? :)

I think it’s definitely possible. Each person is different, but to me, the math and writing sections took less time to bring up than the critical reading section. However, it’s all practice, and it takes time. Therefore, I would recommend studying for longer, rather than taking the SAT in June. With school and finals, you may not have as much time to prepare as you would if you took it your senior year.

yes it’s possible i went from 1600 to 1950 in 2 weeks, as an international student so the SAT was completely new
