Is this sentence gramatically correct?

"Everyday, I saw cats and dogs; lions and tigers; zebras and giraffes; snakes and lizards."

Also, how long should "Why _____" essay be? (fill in college's name in the blank)

Essays usually about 500 words long.

That’s a good question. I’m just speculating, but aren’t semicolons used to separate independent clauses? “Lions and tigers” isn’t an independent clause. I would use commas.

not correct and the length really doesnt matter its whats in it

It is supposed to be: “Every day, I see…”, or “I see cats and dogs… every day”. However, I don’t know what you are trying to communicate in your sentence.

“Every” and “day” are two words in this case and you don’t need semicolons, as they are used to join independent clauses and delineate items in a series that have internal punctuation. You’re trying to be clever with your style and it’s having the exact opposite effect, though it’s hard to tell out of context. If you want to keep the sentence the same, then just use commas where the semicolons are.
