Is this smart or dumb of me...?

Blah blah blah I'll save you the story basically I messed up my gpa.
I plan on applying to transfer from my community college at the end of this fall semester.

I'm a poli sci major (or will be) but my school only has two poli sci classes which I already took. I am signed up for 17 credits for this fall semester so that I can get my GPA up as much as possible by the time a transfer.

A community college in my state has an online poli sci course i can take starting in October but I'd have to pay the out-of-county price.

Would it be dumb to take my 17 credits at my community college and the 3 credits starting in October in the other community college.

I want to do this because the 3 extra credits will not only boost my gpa (If I get an A) but will also be a political science class that will help show my strength in the field when I apply to transfer.

I took 5 summer classes this summer so I THINK I could handle the 20 credits since fall is at a slower pace than summer.

Anyone have an opinion on this? Would 20 credits be too much do you think?

I would say when classes start, look at all of your syllabi and course schedules. Look at what’s required and when, then decide if you can handle the load. Be realistic and honest with yourself. Make a decision before its too late to drop without getting a W. Only you know hat you can really handle, but don’t try to fix one mistake with another one. Better to have fewer credits, but all A’s than to have a bunch and they’re B’s and C’s.
