Is this something that could come back to bite me in the butt?

Um... well I did something that might've been something really stupid. Well, one day I was feeling all stupid and I emailed MIT to ask whether I should drop band and take an AP class. And guess what they replied saying basically that it doesn't matter, and tat it is my choice. Now I feel sort of stupid for asking MIT a question that might make it seem that I do stuff just to get into MIT (my dream school). AAAAAAAHHHHHHH did I jusy commit a critical mistake, or will they forget me, or is this actually a good thing showing that I already care about admissions (since I am only a current freshman)? AHHHH lol wow I feel stupid. Please give me some input.

You just ruined any chance you had at MIT. Nice going.

(/sarcasm)

Nah, it won't matter at all.

Its not like you give your name and information when you call up admissions and ask questions like these. You can ask anything you would like, doesnt matter how smart or how stupid. That question is dead and gone once you hang up the phone. Not like they stamp you application saying "This is the kid who called and asked a dumb question". So don't worry about it.

OP says email, but I think they won't remember you. It may not be the same person that read your application.

lol k thanks... wow i feel stupid. I have no idea why decided to do that

They will have a new admissions director soon.

^

LoL. (10char)

Hahaha barrons.
Ditto to truzan.

o ya u have a point there... lol i guess thank god that there is gona b a new admissions director lol... i dun think it would've mattered either way I hope lol

you're a freshman. They wouldn't keep a tab on you for four years until you apply. They're much too busy. Even supposing they would, did they even ask for your name?

God, you guys who ask these questions are either idiots or are extremely paranoid as a result of too many spy films.

^ HAHaha. spy films.

You need to not over analyze these things. It's not a big deal. Your app. isn't ruined if you ask such questions. Unless you ask them some really offensive/disturbing question, I doubt they'll even remember you anyhow. Just don't spend your time worrying about little minor things that won't even affect your app. I don't really see anything wrong with emailing them, but could you not have just asked your college counselor for advice? Just curious.

Change your name.

Lol, I used to be paranoid about my College Board password. 'What if they think my password is too easy and it affects my college application??' Oh, and I always had to make sure my SAT writing examples were accurate in case they tried to look me up or whatever.
