Is this sophomore year rigorous enough?

Hi, I'm aly. I have my sights set on attending Dartmouth in the fall of 2013 with a concentration in either English, history, or political science with the intention of practicing law. I would like to know if my course schedule is rigorous enough, or if I should opt into some harder classes.

Italian 2
English 10 Honors
US AP History
Geometry level 1
Biology level 1
Business and Personal Law
Capstone
Gym
Photography

I also have extensive extra cariculars.

Thanks!

Are Capstone, Gym, Business and Personal Law, and photography required? What is your school’s schedule like?

You should take the most rigorous courses possible. If you can opt in to harder classes, and you think you can handle them, definitely do so.

Capstone and gym are required, as are the other electives for certian art and exploratory credits needed to graduate. Would it make a difference to take honors bio as an English major?

At a school like Dartmouth, they want to see that you excel at everything, not just your prospective major. Taking honors bio would probably be the better choice as a sophomore.

Another question: Would they rather see me have average marks in say, honors bio, or excellent marks in level one bio?

How about excellent marks in honors bio? Or at least great marks. You will need both to get in (difficult class + good grades).

My only problem is, I am a very unbalanced person in the way of talents. when tested, i tested beyond high school english levels, but at average math and science levels. will this hurt me?

Probably. Most people at Dartmouth are at least above average in every subject (by above average, I mean around the ninetieth percentile).

When I say unusual, I mean that I can bs my way through a top level English class and end up with the second highest grade in the class. Not to be pretentious or anything.
