On the December SSAT I got 95% overall, 99% quantitative, 91% verbal and 91% reading. I’m applying to Andover, Exeter, L’ville, and H’kiss. I heard the averages for L’ville and H’kiss are around 85%ile but for Andover and Exeter around 94%?? Would my scores drag my chances down?
Also this probably sounds stupid but I took the November SSAT as well and also scored 95% then, but 89% reading and 92% verbal. Which score should I send?
Simple answer…NO. Great score. They know you can hack it there. Your chances are now linked to all of the other stuff in your application. Good luck!
You scored above their averages. Why would you assume that your scores would bring you down? You did great. You’re boarding school ready. Now, all you need to do if focus most of you time and energy onto why you deserve to attend their schools.
If you’re done with everything else, just chillax and enjoy the rest of your year.
Happy Holidays!
Absolutely! Congratulations. A 95% score is absolutely fantastic!
That score is great and I believe the average for Andover is 93%. From everything the wiser members of CC have said in all the threads I have read the SSAT scores are there to make sure you are capable of cutting it at X school. They are not going over scores with a fine tooth comb to compare you to another candidate and knock you out or admit you. If you have above the school’s average you should be good to go. Focus on the rest of your application, the essays are important!
