ok so i'm thinking about a&m, and maybe even the corps. i found this article online, and i want to know whether this is biast or is this actually the image of corps on campus and in the outside world? thanks

The corp. is actually a smaller percentage of students than I originally thought. I’m not going to lie, I’ve seen some corp guys who think pretty high of themselves and possibly, maybe having the confidence to do something they knew they’d get away with. But dudes like that, and the two in the article aren’t like this because of the corp. There is a small sense of entitlement among them, but there are probably way bigger reasons we’ll never know.

I’ve lived in CS for a year and have been directly on campus since starting in the summer, so I still have a first impression. Through the year and a few classes, alot of them seem like regular guys. I even started working out with one a couple days a week so don’t let this article sway you too much…I used to live at the Exchange though, kind of crazy.

First This did not happen on school property, so it is hard for a school to act on this. And, the actions of 2 students does not make up a picture of how close to 50000 students act. as far as the rest tragedy for sure, all the way around.

This happened 5.5 years ago, just wonder why you would dig this up? the incident happened 2 years before this article was written in Jan 23, 2008. nevermind, it doesnt really matter.

The corp makes up less than 1/2 of 1% of TAMU students, and like derekallen2009 said, sounds like this was more than just a corps issue. And it was only one side of the story.

horrible story though- with drinking involved.

And exactly what yojay48 says. 2 students 5.5 years ago does not make up an accurate picture of TAMU student body.

I have never met anyone from AM even remotely like the two described in the article.

i didn’t just dig it up, i was looking info for the corps i typed ‘tamu corps college confidential’ and this was the 2nd link right beneath the college confidential discussion results. anyways i’m still curious about how other students/professors view the corps? like is it easy for kids in the corps to become good friends with non corps members? and what about the outside world, like employers? like are they just known as the ‘tough guys’ etc?
