<p>For the common app essay if I was doing the diversity topic is it okay to write about being a minority in a majority white area or have admissions offices just received too many of those essays for mine to have any chance of standing out?</p>

<p>There are tons of vampire stories out there. There are tons of stories about love lost during elizabethian England. There are tons of stories about lawyers. But still, who doesnt love reading a good vampire romance that ends up in court :). </p>
<p>It is not exactly what you write, it is how you write it. Cliche? Maybe, but tell an interesting story/perspective, and you will be fine.</p>
<p>I agree with Imontoya. You can write a good college essay about anything. You just have to work a little harder to make it special.</p>
