I feel much more comfortable with writting than math and since im not really taking any serious math classes i think i can pull it off but im not sure. any advice? Also what's an ethnic studies class like? is it like history or what?

I don’t think 17 hours is too much - at a CC - if you don’t have a job or lots of other commitments.

I’ve never taken an ethnic studies class, so i can’t help you there. I can tell you that macro is one of 4 B’s on my transcript (with the rest being A’s). I don’t think your schedule is too difficult, but don’t underestimate how much work you are in for. Your ethnic studies class probably involve a lot of writing. Your English class definitely does. My situation with macro wasn’t really typical (teacher walked in first day and said he wasn’t being paid enough to actually teach the class, then he gave us a final based on the textbook from a different class). But even without the extenuating circumstance it still is a hard class. I got an A in micro, but just barely.

Are you going to have to take any math/science classes at some point? Don’t put them off! You might end up like some of my friends who were cramming 19 credits of their “hard” classes into their last quarter/semester and hating life…
