i just randomly wrote some dialogue and spun it into an essay...i like it but my friend told me that it is too out there for places like Harvard, so to current students and those admitted can i PM my bit to you and get some feedback?

Just a point I want to put it out there. HARVARD + other colleges LOVE creativity. They really do, if you write it well and really show yourself and its creative, that's great! On the other hand, if you are trying to be "too creative" and the writing suffers, that will not go over very well?

But I think so many times, I've had people tell me "mixed information" about my essay. Some said it was too "abstract" and I needed to spell out everything to admissions officers and others said it was fine. So, I think in the end, YOU need to make the judgement and if you like it, go for it.

I can take a look at it. PM me.

I will look at it too!

i'll look at it, pm please

ak72889, I'm doing something with my essay that also seems risky.
I'm trying to decide whether to use it or not.
But I think what matters the most is that it shows our voice and personality, so it's our choice in the end.

ok...thanks everyone...if i haven't PMed you all yet thats b/c i have been working on the original one......

the reason i know that its really risky is b/c its on religion and my friend said that it might offend some people, therefore killing my chances but....

.....have actually changed it alot...i think its going from giving off a negative tone (which was the problem w/ my other school OMZ may know if she read my post on the desions thread) to a more introspective one on self development(thanks moralityjustice!)....i will definetly send it to all you guys when i am done...along with the original too so you can compare... thanks for all the support, you guys are great! and i'll get it to all you for scrutiny as soon as i can.
