Is this true? Please tell me its not..

Yes, I think most schools will let you take it three times before they start averaging scores. You can check with individual admissions offices to be sure, although if that isn't the case there isn't much you can do about it now.

Heard this on the Duke forums. Is it true for princeton?

Got an error and it double posted. SOrry.

I'll let you post your thread three times before I start averaging them. :)

i think it's true with most schools, no?

Ah well. Princeton will be the only one who will do it considering they will be the only school to see the 4th one. (maybe JHu too. Dont know).

I think most universities look at your highest score for each section.
That's what my college counsellors told me and I believe it's true.
Please don't tell me that p-ton averages all the scores......sigh

they do but if you take it more than 3 times they'll start to raise eyebrows

Not sure... but that rumor has been floating around in these forums for a while. I guess, just to be safe, try to limit the number of times you take it to 3. (maybe call each of the schools up to find out what their policies are)

it's not true, plain and simple. it will raise their eyebrows the number, but they will still consider the highest scores. don't try taking it 5 times though- it's gonna leave a bad taste in the adcomm's mouths

Just tell them the fourth and fifth time you took the SAT I were because of double-posting to College Board's online registration system. ;)
