I want to be a teacher or professor when I grow up and I wrote about it on my personal statement. Is it weird that I pick my major as Economics? I don't want to simply major in school subjects like Biology or Math or Education. I feel like Economics is a much more broad major so if anything were to go wrong, I could settle with other jobs. Or I can even be a economics professor. Would the readers of my app have second thoughts on accepting me from seeing that I picked econ over education or one of the more common majors for teachers? With economics, it is very math intensive and there are actually courses in economics in high schools, although it tends only be a half a year and is mixed with another course. As a result, I am a little hesitant on picking economics.

I'd like to add.. will computer science be even more weird? I'm stuck between economics and computer science. With either major, I can still me a math teacher right? I'm just trying to play it safe.
