100% correct, Gil.

you guys are pretty snobbish....even though i was wronmg, hunt's message above was totally unnecessary! why the hell are you makin a issue of nothing!! this thread wasnt created for discussing geography alright!!

Let me also advise you not to come across as an ungrateful jerk in your college applications--that might affect your success in getting in.

isaac, I was just correcting you!

I don't think any of us intend to be snobbish, isaac. We aren't attacking you, just correcting your mistake.

hello! ok gil i didnt mean anything to u , neither you tetris! but hunt whatever you may say, your message was totally uncalled for, it wasnt insulting, wasnt derogatory, wasnt rude, it was just unnecessary. I had been jokin about that mistake of mine in the earlier post, it was like ok final end to the post. But you again brought it up, i repeat , it was unnecesary and overly snobbish.

haha, and its funny how you think you can just percieve somebody's personality from messages posted on internet.

The purpose of this thread was to know abt how do colleges cosnider the differences in the education systems of the applicant from the US system .

It wasnt supposed to be a crash course on geography 101.

If you seethe thread, only 2-3 posts have been about my doubt, rest was uncalled for.

Can we end the discussion here plz. And Gil, tetris and others who answered, thanxs again for replying to my posts!

what exam was it anyway??

the aieee.

hehe! don't write that down! that has no importance at all!if it was like science olympiad etc, it may have been fine! but seriously not aieee! for that matter, no competitive exam.

lol ok adrivit! thanxs! hehe, i kind of expected it was not worth it :), anewayz ur indian, right?? are you in college ?? have you given the SAT? how much did you get?? and which colleges are you thinkin of applyin to??

PM me if you want, but please tell me everything! would luv to knw more abt other indian applicants like me.

I don't want to bust your bubble or anything, but you are posting on the Dartmouth forum. Last year, Dartmouth accepted 7 applicants from over 1500 Indian applicants. My sister, who currently attends Dartmouth, has a roommate who is an international student from Indian. That Indian student told my sister that she expects the number of Indian applicants to double this year because Dartmouth now extends its need-blind policy to international students. So, don't mention that you didn't rank in the top 100. Best of luck to you.

I didn't read the whole thread, so I don't know if anyone has already said this. You should mention your score was 125,000 highest out of 800,000 if you are 1. an accomplished & famous actor/actress/singer/other entertainment professional in India on a national/international scale, 2. an accomplished & famous athlete in India on a national/international scale. Best of luck.

Yes I am an Indian. I've given the SATs - 2300 for SAT1 and 2340 for SAT2. I will be applying to a mixture of top colleges, middle-tier LACs and 1 or 2 safeties which I have fixed upon yet.
I have given my ISC this year. In my gap year now, doing community service and finishing my research projects.
Getting into a top college like Dartmouth takes much, much more than any result in any stipulated exam. It takes dedication, intellectual curiosity and all the nouns and adjectives you can gather! Hope you understand!
You can PM with questions if you like, or find me in Facebook or Orkut. (Adrivit Mukherjee is my name).

PS: You can also trust in what Tetrisfan says, she is a college-app genius!
