if you haven’t got one, don’t freak out.
it doesn’t even mean anything if you don’t get one.
you can still apply and receive the scholarship without getting some sort of flier by them. the scholarship and application are advertised publicly on their website. </p>

<p>to my knowledge it isn’t filtered (speaking as a current Alumni Scholar).
it does depend, however, on if your area has an active UCLA Alumni base. those in close proximity to one are more likely to get one i think.
but everyone is welcome to apply and has an equal shot of getting the scholarship.</p>
<p>Encumbrance is right. Don’t confuse Alumni awards with Regency Awards. The latter are strictly by invitation.</p>
<p>Oh gosh, I remember wondering about this last year too. There might be old threads on it. Try the search function, I think, and you may come across some old ones. . . : )</p>
<p>Anyone that has applied for Freshman Admission is eligible to apply. Don’t know how they decide who to e-mail about it though.</p>
