Is time a factor?

I've been taking some ACT practice tests and timing myself and it seems like the time is gonna kill my score...I donno if its cause I'm distracted or what, but the reading section is really hard to finish. For those of you that have taken the test before, was it hard for you guys to finish? This is the first time taking the ACT for me(Jun 10th), but I've practiced SAT alot and the time is a non-factor for me in all the sections (I usually get 2300+ practice, my real score hasn't come back yet). I always thought that the ACT was much easier, but I never imagined that time would screw me...

The ACT is EASY..it is just the time that will screw you over. learn to pace yourself to get through the test.

yeah...i usually find time is more of a factor in the act vs the sat....especially in the reading and science sections...so to make up for this i usually only skim passages in the reading and glance over the graphs in the science section...

For the science sections with tables and graphs, I've decided not to read at all.

In some of the books, they tell me to not read the passages in the reading section, and just find the answer to the questions. Is this a good idea? I haven't been getting good results with that strategy...

Which sections do people usually run out of time on this test?

all of them.... but seriously science is the worst. I took the test in april and on science had like 5 minutes left to do 14 problems. I ended up missing 6 out of the last 14.

Reading can be a little tight, but science is REALLY hard to finish on time. I hate the science section. I got a 23 :o

Almost everyone I know did better on the ACT than they did on the SAT, except for me.

Yes, the time is the hardest part of the test. It's very frustrating that they provide so little time for each question, especially for slower readers. Nothing to do about it though, except develop reading strategies that work the best for you and to make the most out of it.
