well, i got really nice service from the hairdresser for a $30 haircut. she washed my hair twice, styled and blow-dried it for like 15 minutes...

i tipped her $10 at the end, but now i wonder if i was being too shabby. Is it really?

there is no appropriate TIP IMHO...you give what you want...

the most i've tipped is $20 for two big red shipping guys who delivered my ****...

I assume that you got your hair cut at Cornell University.

I usually tip the hairdresser 20-30% b/c I'm a pain in the butt to deal with when it comes to my hair :-)

The bigger question is...what should I tip the movers who are delivering my boxes right now???

wow...I give the hairdressers $5 most of the time, I guess I'm just cheap

My son is a mover during the summers. He said that $5 per hour of moving for each worker is about right. You can give more if your stuff is extra heavy or the house layout is extra difficult.

I gave them $20 each b/c they had to go up 4 flights, lug heavy boxes and today was exceptionally hot and sticky.

20% tip for hairdresser is plenty. Often the person that washes your hair is different than your hairdresser, so you would have to tip both, but not 20% each.

WOW 10 FOR A 30 HAIRCUT! dang...every time you go in there, they will like "expect" you to give the same now...

I usually round up to the nearest 5. So if I get a $17 haircut, I'll give them $20. Hmm, I bet they charge $17 on purpose then.

No, it's an above-average tip and I'm sure the hair stylist apprecaited it!
