Okay, this might be one of those dumb questions but I'll post it anyways.

Is TOEFL required for international applicants to any US universities?

Thanks!

Most of them, yeah.

Although top schools will exempt you if your CR score is above 700-ish.

Depends on the college.

Not really. TOEFL just one of the ways in which colleges ascertain that you know enough english to be able to effectively get through the college coursework.

In fact, in all the applications i’ve glossed over, i’ve never seen one which categoricaly requires your TOEFL score. If your SAT critical reading is 660+ (may vary) or if you went to an english medium school and studied english for a considerable amount of time and if you have good marks in the subject then you don’t need TOEFL.

Right, that’s awesome. :)

Thanks ya’ll! :D

Does the toefl score act as a positive aspect???

They don’t care about how high your TOEFL score is, as long as it’s above a certain threshold that indicates you don’t have a problem speaking English. That’s all the TOEFL is designed to measure.

I did IB English SL and got a score of 7, plus I’m a US Citizen, so I was exempted from TOEFL. But yes, its true that as long as English is your first language, you don’t have to take it.
But then again, it’s better to show the colleges that you’re fluent in the language and are worthy of admission. It pays to be safe So I don’t think you should skip TOEFL. You might regret it later, and even if you don’t, it serves as a plus point in the admission process.
