I am currently a freshman at University of Illinois Springfield. I have finished my semester with a 3.73 GPA. I want to transfer to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the fall of 2012. So basically I have two questions. My first question is does being at another U of I school improve my chances of transferring? My second question is concerns my GPA is it strong enough to transfer into the psychology program. Thanks for the help!

Your GPA seems strong enough, and no consideration is given for attending another U of I school. You have to meet all the transfer requirements as detailed in the Transfer handbook for LAS, of which Psychology is a part. Admittance depends on many factors including your having taken the requisite courses, the number of semester hours completed, and how your GPA stacks up against others requesting a transfer in the program.

I don’t think you’ll have a problem with GPA, but you need to check out the handbook. Link below:

In terms of the handbook I think I have met all of the requirements for the classes. I even have 32 semester credit hours due to ap credits. Anyway thanks for the help
