For financial reasons..or acceptance reasons. I am mostly referring to transferring to a LAC, for the smaller environment among other perks of LACs.

What is your opinion on taking core classes at a state university (ex, UGA) and then transferring to an LAC?

How do you make a good impression as a freshman at a big school to stand a chance as a transfer (like knowing your professors) considering the size and lack of intimacy at these larger universities? It seems like this would be most difficult.

im currently transferring from a CC to hopefully either tcnj or one of the other Us i had applied to. however my cards fall, i dont regret at ALL starting at a CC and transfering, as i had a lot of problems (deaths, drugs… all equating to bad grades) to deal with in highschool, yet CC gave me a chance to change that and get my head on straight.

now im applying to some good schools with a 3.667 in college, my transcript is 95% honors classes, PTK member, and a few other things that with hopefully aid in my success…

and not to mention my 2 years of education cost only around 9,000 dollars? what can beat that!

all in all, CC and transferring are the best decisions i made…

I don’t know about the other questions, but use the office time they have religiously. Talk to them, ask questions in class.

Thank you for your responses.
I currently have good grades, rank, gpa-EVERYTHING but standardized test scores.
So smaller CCs wouldnt be a fit acedemically, but I guess UGA would have office hrs that I could utilize.
