Please explain. Do you mean that you’ve begun a master’s program, but actually want to go to one at an Ivy League school? Or that when you get your undergrad done, you want to apply to a certain Ivy League school for grad school. Because that isn’t transferring, that’s just grad school.

ah, ok thank you. I was talking about going for grad school. I actually thought that going to a different school for grad school was under the realm of “transferring” lol

ok, thanks a lot, this just made me a lot more confident in my future :)

When you are just about finished with your undergrad degree, you can apply for ADMISSION to grad school.

Occasionally, students who have been admitted to a graduate program at one institution realize that their goals will be better met by completing a grad program at a different institution and they apply for ADMISSION (if it is a Master’s or Ph.D.) or TRANSFER if it is Law, Medical, or another professional school.

alright sweet, like I said, I was under the impression that trying to get into a grad school at an Ivy was just as hard as transferring to an Ivy because I thought that when people said “transferring” both of those situations were included in what they were talking about

this actually took a good amount of weight off my back

Yep. Say a Harvard undergrad wants to attend the Kennedy School of Government. She has to apply there, just like someone who does not attend Harvard. The grad schools are separate entities. Most people who attend them did not attend that particular Ivy League school for undergrad.
