Is transferring to U of Michigan (ROSS) from W&M possible?

I have decided to transfer because i want to study industrial eng + marketing, but i will apply U of Michigan (ROSS).

My HS GPA is about 3.7, I am an international, and AVG SAT-1800-1900.

DO i still have a chance to transfer to U of Michigan (ROSS) from W & M? Do i have to take the SAT's again? SAT I and II? or am i good enough as long as i get a decent gpa at W&M.

If i were to apply as a sophmore would it be unlikely to get in compared to applying as a

junior toU of Michigan (ROSS) ? or is there actually a great chance that if i finish my freshman year and apply with around 3.5-3.8 GPA i will get in?

I was thinking double major maybe in Marketing and Industrial eng(W&M does not have eng program)- maybe i am dreaming.

your chance of gettting in is very slim.
Ross is a 3 yr program, so if u transfer here as a junior, even if u can, you’d have to spend 5 yrs in college.
But yeah, your chance is almost none.

Lets say that i apply as LAS for Michigan will the chances be much better? or am i just dreaming.

You want to study industrial engineering + marketing and yet you plan to transfer to LS&A? Talk about clarity of purpose … it’d be interesting to read your transfer essay.

About transferring directly to Ross, your chance is rather slim. Around 1% or less of Ross regular admission class is from transfers (http://www.bus.umich.edu/Admissions/Bba/RA%20Profile%2009.pdf</a>). And Ross is a mandatory 3-year program regardless of your entry status.

I meant i want to either study Marketing, or industrial eng.

IF i apply for LSA will i have a much better chance?

Internationalee, I am confused. You are interested in Industrial Engineering and Marketing and yet you intend on applying to LSA? Not not apply to the College of Engineering?

If i apply as a sophomore for Michigan- I could apply for LSA i guess it does not really matter since i still have a year left to decide on my major.

but on the other hand if i apply as a junior i have to either apply as Ross or Eng school(I could apply for LSA, but it will be much more difficult to get into Ross and + More years of college- more costs

Internationalee, LSA students cannot simply declare a major in the college of Engineering. Transferring into the CoE is not more difficult than transferring into LSA.

wow i didn’t know that i thought it was pretty much the same deal as undergraduate admissions.

Cause some schools like UIUC have much higher standards to get in to eng school compared to LSA
