Is trigonometry required for chemical engineers??

Is it required to take trigonometry after College Algebra? Or can I go straight to Pre-Cal after college algebra? Which is a wiser choice?

You’re in high school, I assume? Many times the pre-calculus curriculum includes trig, so that those on the “calculus track” don’t have to take trig as a separate course. Check with your math department

If you’re in college, same message–check with your math dept.

You will use a lot of trig in Calc II & III, a decent amount in Calc I, and tons in Physics I & II. You can’t be any kind of engineer without knowing trig. Does your precalc class teach trig?

You’ll definitely be using trig when you get to calculus. Depending on how much trig is covered in your precalc classes, or how good you are at picking up things as you go, you could take that instead. I never had trig, only a precalc class with VERY LITTLE trig and managed to learn a lot as i went along, but it did require a little extra effort.
