<p>Just wanted to bump this in case it is remotely useful for future applicants. I was rejected by Davis, Irvine, SD (expected), LA (expected), and wait listed by SB. Total wake up call for me. I did, however, get into Occidental w/ a scholarship, so I don’t know what happened.</p>
<p>I have no idea how that happened unless you had bad recs/bad essays/bad something…
That went wrong, you should’ve been accepted into LA and SD and even Davis or Irvine…

<p>that is a 3.8W GPA, by the way. Still, I thought chances were decent. My essays were done kind of at the last minute (for all schools), and I’m pretty sure my recs were good, but perhaps there was some mistake on my app, who knows. I wasn’t expecting LA or SD, but the rest were surprising, to say the least.</p>
<p>Last year, I got into UCSD, UC Davis, UCI, and UCSB with honors. However, I was wait listed at Occidental. Just goes to show that every school is looking for something different.</p>

<p>I guess so, JeSuis. Obviously, the more “numbers based” approach didn’t work out in my favor. Davis was the only UC I really wanted to go to, though, so I wasn’t too disappointed; just a little surprised. Let’s see how this bodes for me when USC decisions arrive later this week. Hope you’re enjoying Davis.</p>
