Is UCLA CS harder to get into than UC Berkeley CS?

I heard from some sources that UCLA CS is even harder to get in than UC Berkeley CS. Is this true? I applied to CoE for Berkeley.

If you got into UCLA CS, do you have a good chance of getting into Berkeley CS?

For UCB EECS versus UCLA CS, it is not knowable for sure without detailed by major admissions information that neither campus releases. Both use direct frosh admission to the major.

For UCB L&S CS, it is likely easier to get in for frosh admission to UCB L&S (where all students start undeclared) than UCLA CS, but UCB L&S students need a 3.3 college GPA in the first three CS courses in order to get into the UCB L&S CS major. There is no direct frosh admission to UCB L&S CS.

Yeah, you’re right. Judging by the fact that you said “it is not knowable for sure,” I’m guessing it is roughly even though? That means I can still keep my hopes up

How do you define harder? I think I heard that the number of spots at UCLA is smaller, Cal’s letter &science dept. notwithstanding.

Just as an update. Rejected from berkeley.
