International Studies Program, UCSD

Thinking about IS-Poli Sci, with a focus in the middle east. Is this the best choice for an IR or IS major in CA? I know Berkley has a conflict resolution major, but it's not really what I'm interested in. Other than that, does any other school rank higher than UCSD in terms of quality and prestige?

Thanks.

anyone have input?

If you really want to to IR, you should look east: Georgetown, Tufts, Johns Hopkins, for example. For the UC’s, it doesn’t much matter. (On an undergrad level, without connections, IR is just not that marketable, so attend the UC campus where you will enjoy four years.)

Well I’m definitely going for grad school, and possibly even out of country (like LSE) if I can afford it; which is the reason I’m not looking east at this point (affordability). I can afford a UC, so I’d like to know that I’m choosing the best option.

You may want to look into NYU - Abu Dabi, not knowing if they have any program you are looking for but it is certainly closer to Mid East and they have great FA.
