I am a transfer student from a community college that's transferring to UIUC accounting as a junior. I want to know how hard the school is.

Community college was pretty easy and I'm almost certain UIUC will not be. I also got into DePaul but I read that UIUC accounting is ranked #2 nationally and will increase my chances to get into a top four accounting firm. However, I've heard that DePaul is easier because of small class sizes. So I'd just like to know how hard UIUC would be for a community college transfer student.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Since your question is more about the school and the Acct major rather than transferring per se, you might also want to post your thread on the UIUC forum and the Business majors forum.

Are you hoping for it to be easy? Accounting at UIUC is a strong program. It’ll be challenging for most people to do well in university- especially in a top rated program. But if CC was ‘easy’ for you, then I’m sure you can handle it. You’re just going to have to learn to work and study harder than you have in the past. Assuming you can afford it, please don’t turn down an opportunity for a good education because you won’t be able to coast.
