Is UIUC as big as UMich?

I heard UIUC is big, but UMich is bigger.
At UMich, students have to ride buses around campus.
Do students at UIUC have to ride buses?
and is the campus nice there?

I liked UMich’s campus better. It is hillier, in a nicer setting, and has a great college town. The campus didn’t feel too big. You ride a bus if you want to get to the engineering campus, which is actually like a mile plus away from the main campus. When I was at UofI, it took me forty or so minutes to walk completely accross the campus (northeast side in the engineering part to the stadium parking lot in the southwest). So yeah, at UofI, students have to ride in busses too.

It took you 40 minutes to walk from engineering to Assembly Hall? That sounds like a lot. And you would never be walking to the parking lot of Assembly Hall for classes. I think the farthest you would walk would be 15-20 minutes…anyone else want to comment. I don’t think taking the bus is that common…unless it is cold of course

The farthest walk I have had from one class to another at UIUC is 15 min, which I only did during the nice weather. Otherwise I took the bus. For all practical purposes, UMich and UIUC are nearly identical in student population, campus size, and quality of education is nearly a wash, though UMich probably holds a marginal edge there.

Everything I have heard is that the UMich campus is nicer, at least by my own standards, but I have only seen the football and basketball stadiums and surrounding areas in Ann Arbor, so I really can’t comment. I CAN tell you one thing. It is colder up there than it is here, which is a turn off to me. haha
