Is U of A good for pre-med? Do they have many opportunities for internships, volunteering, jobs, research, etc? If you went to U of A for pre-med, what is it like? I was also thinking of majoring in biology there. What is the biology program like at U of A? Does it prepare you for the MCAT? Thanks so much!

bump bump! please guys? help me(:

You may have more luck posting in UA forum

I know that you’re trying to go OOS for college. We can better help you if you give us more info…

1) What is your GPA?

2) What are your test scores?

3) What state are you in?

4) How much will your parents pay?

Virtually all big schools are fine for pre-med. However, not all schools are equally affordable. I know that you were looking at some UCs OOS. If you were to need FA or merit, those schools wouldn’t be affordable.

You’ll want to avoid debt as a pre-med student since med school usually requires debt.

I actually live in Arizona. University of Arizona is one of the state colleges.

As you have read on SDN, U of A is a fine undergraduate choice.

UAZ and ASU are fine for pre-med.

I know that you’re looking at UCLA and some other schools which is why I posted as I did. UCLA would NOT be worth the OOS costs for premed.

Thanks for the advice.(: I’ll consider looking at other colleges.

Most of my medical school class in Tucson were UA graduates. About 1/4 were from ASU. The rest were from USC, Stanford, Duke, Colorado College, NAU, Wyoming, and maybe a few others. All but one were Arizona residents.
The UA grads did exceptionally well in med school, and many got prestigious residencies.

On the other hand, I don’t know any UA undergrads that went to med schools outside the state, but I wasn’t an undergrad there.

Tucson is a great college town, especially if you’re from Phoenix!
