is USC a good choice if I want to settle down in California?

<p>The OP probably isn’t concerned about the area - he appears to be pursuing a Master’s degree via “distance learning” (online classes).

I am currently pursuing my engineering M.S degree online at USC. I wanted to pursue my education without quitting my job and the USC engineering distance program appealed to me. I am half way done with the program. Would it be foolish to drop it and start over at Duke for my M.S?</p>

<p>It’s a similar degree and Duke offers distance learning as well. I like Duke’s program because the program is better structured/more formal and it’s a program that involves their law, business and engineering schools (all are top rated) with interesting choice of classes. It provides an opportunity for a concentration unlike USC. Duke also has better academic reputation. </p>

<p>The tuition cost is almost the same and I’m already half way done with my USC degree. The job prospect will probably be better with the Duke pedigree as well. <p>The answers might be different if people offering suggestions knew that the OP is interested in online graduate programs. (And OP, why ask about USC’s program if you are already in it? Wouldn’t you know more than most???)</p>
