The range for the 25%-75% for USC is 29-33. You are significantly lower than the 25%. Your gpa is also lower than 82% of applicants. I would recommend looking at schools that are within your range on websites like college simple. If you are dead set on a california school i would do your homework or raise that score a few points so you can get into a school like Chico State University.

I agree with the above poster. You need to be more realistic with your selection.

there are plenty of other options out there, you’ve just gotta look for them and see which schools match your interests and stats.

I will look into LMU?

USC is not a viable option at all. Your ACT score is just way way too low and your GPA is only average. I really think you could raise up that ACT score pretty easily, but it might be too late. If you live in CA, I’d recommend looking at some Cal States! Cal State LA might be a good fit if you like the LA area.

Academically, your chances are a bit low for USC, but I think it’s still worth a shot. You never know. Your ACT is honestly a bit on the low side though, and I think it’s worth looking into bringing it up just to bring up your chances a little.

My sister wants to go into music performing, and she’s been told that the most important factor is the audition and her grades are secondary. I believe that’s the same for film. Just make sure your portfolio is good. What kind of job/community service/club were you involved in? If it’s film related, it would be good to put in the portfolio.

Other colleges in the LA area that’s good for what you want to do is Chapman University and Loyola Marymount University. I hear Chapman’s film program is phenomenal and they’re actually known to accept students with a GPA of your range. And their financial aid is supposedly good as well. You should really look into it.

Just to be safe though, make sure you have safeties. I’m sure there’s plenty of Cal States that are good. If you go that route, maybe you can bring your grades up and transfer into USC later.

In the end, it’s all really up to you. Best of luck!

Your ACT is really low.
