Is USC a prestigious school?

<p>My usual impression is…</p>

<p>USC and UPenn are
the only 2 exceptions in the country
that are named as –> “University of (North, Southern, West, Western…) State”
but are actually private schools instead of the
usually implied public-state schools styles names.</p>

<p>Is that right or there are other exceptions?</p>
