Is USC more likely to accept students who don't need financial aid?

Exactly. Sorry to say it, but "money talks", and well, it does.

The UC schools say they're "race-blind" but have you ever read publications on the UC admissions process? There have been innumerous amounts of studies on the controversial UC admissions process. Under-represented minorities are given lenience in grades and scores.

The question is on the part one application because admissions uses that to seperate applications into piles, people who can pay, and people who cannot. It doesn't matter how large of an endowment a school has, a student who can pay is ALWAYS more desirable than a student with similar stats who cannot pay.

True, but you can never be sure.

It's funny that you mention Andover- I went there, and there was a decent number of very underprivileged kids who entered through various programs (Prep 9, Prep for Prep). But you're right, for the most part the student body was well-off.
