is USC (southern cal) worth the money?

Seems like usc is bein a little more lax with their admission criteria this year. (Any comments on that?)

Is it worth 33k / year tuition?

buuuuuuuuuuump

If your a CA resident, might as well go to the state school (cheaper and still a highly regarded education).

U.S.C. more commonly known as Univerysity of Spoiled Children

shark, i don;t think usc is being more laxed specifically this year =D, you were just too intimated by what everyone is posting on cc regarding how hard it is to get into anywhere lol
edit: check out this thread =D http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=309494

Personally, USC isn't worth the money, considering there are universities that are just as good if not better coughBerkeleycough that are also a lot cheaper. In addition, USC's location sucks.

If you are planning to major in enginneering/bio/math related, might as well go to one of the upper-tier UC's...

If you plan to major in Business, USC's Marshall school of business is DEFINATELY worth the money. Strongest, most powerful alumni network in California.

USC's really been trying to crank up admission decision.. people perceive it to surpass UCLA within 5-10 years. Whether you like USC or not is your personal opinion....... USC's recent sky-rocketing growth cannot be ignored.

How can it be the University of Spoiled Children if the average family income of UCLA's is slightly higher than USC's average?

nah, it's the Univerysity of Sexy Chicks.

That spoiled kid joke is from my parent's generation. USC now has one of the highest percentages of Pell grant recipients (the poorest students) of any college..
